The first volume in the vinyl series dedicated to releases from the Italian label Mattei & Omich Music, specialized in house music. “Groove 144”, already a No.1 hit on Beatport’s Jackin House chart, has remained a staple in countless international DJs’ playlists for over a year, while “Stand Up” is a cover of the famous Loleatta Holloway classic: a driving bassline and an aggressive groove frame the stunning vocals of Roxy Reese, who delivers an outstanding reinterpretation.
The Italian project Re-Tide opens the “Disco Choice” vinyl series. The title already hints at what’s on the menu, with sounds ranging from pure funk to authentic house music. “Last Night A DJ Saved My Life” is a cover of the iconic Indeep track: Roxy Reese’s voice fits perfectly over a punchy, funk-driven base. “The Power” remained for many years in the charts of the authoritative American platform Traxsource, receiving a huge amount of positive feedback.
