Description
Veteran DJ and producer Sebra Cruz, founder of Margot Records and half of the iconic duo
Margot, has long cultivated his craft with deep roots in the Italian Riviera club scene since the
mid-1990s, under the moniker Pepe DJ.
His musical identity transcends genres — whether on the dancefloor or in ambient and
experimental settings, Sebra’s touch is unmistakable. His releases span labels such as Life and
Death, Ellum, Habitat, and Bolina Records, including collaborations with DJ Tennis and Elasi,
and remixes for Diplo, Catz N’ Dogz, Ricky Montanari, LP Giobbi, and Coyote. His debut album
was released in 2023 on Life and Death.
“Bellissima”, the title track, is a house music homage to elegance and grace — to be danced
to with lightness and listened to with heart. Each sample is carefully placed, crafting an
ethereal atmosphere. The hypnotic repetition of the word “bellissima” after the break heightens
a sense of sonic ecstasy.
“Acid Days Easy Days” is a certified dancefloor weapon — already championed by legends like
DJ Tennis, Ricky Montanari, and DJ Ralf. The track features Sebra Cruz himself on vocals,
adding a personal, electro grunge touch to its acid-tinged architecture. A relentless yet elegant
groove, where voice and machine blend into a hypnotic ride full of attitude and emotion.
“This Feeling” opens with a moody and introspective vibe: a gritty beat and a disoriented piano
float through warped pitch bends. But tension soon gives way to euphoria, as a bright chord
progression breaks in — releasing a wave of emotional energy.
“Cinebass” is Sebra Cruz’s tribute to Italian cinema — rich with nostalgic cues and retro
atmospheres. At the same time, he describes it as embodying a “Daft Punk mindset”: funky,
bouncy, and overflowing with house grooves and charm.
